One would hope that the first post on the woman's forum would be something positive about women, encouraging them to talk about ENF/CMNF. Instead, it's just some LGTBQ+ bashing. 
It's just nonsense that straight cisgendered people are diapering. The majority is and will always fall in that category. Because of the attention and wider acceptance more people, who might otherwise suppress this, now understand that belong to this community. 
And if you are confirmable with your gender and sexuality, then you want to be accepted for that. So why not accept people that are different and also just want to be accepted. If you were comfortable with people belonging to the LGTBQ+ community, then why would you mind that are being shown in the media? 
  

It being shown on the media isn't the problem. It being shown too much is the problem. There are more people critical of the movement now than in the 2010s because of this, and I would argue that it's not good for the movement.
  

I find this opinion quite common, as I have seen it shared by lots of people on social medias and in real life too. But often that opinion seems to come out of nowhere, without any actual evidence to back it up. LGBT+ representation is already a pretty wide and vague idea. A gay couple in the background of one scene in a movie vs a transgender as the main character of a tv show are very different. Naming the different popular tv shows and movies today, how many main characters can you name that are transgender, gay, lesbian or  bisexual ?

Isn’t every disney princess heterosexual and cisgender ? Can you tell me which of the main characters in star wars, harry potter, lord of the rings, mad max, the hunger games, dune, avengers, spiderman, or batman are gay? or bisexual ? transgender ? a lesbian ? can you name a character who is transgender and bisexual from each one of these popular franchise? 

Truth is, you can’t. Because claiming that there is an « over-representation » of these people is very exaggerated. Especially when most of the time that representation is just some background character mentioning he has a husband in one scene of the movie. Or a character that is hinted to be queer by the creators, through little details, without it being clearly said. The last movie I watched in theatres was « Obsession ». It is a popular movie. It has no mention of anything related to the lgbt+ community. I haven’t watched “the backrooms” yet, but i’ve been meaning to. However from the reviews I have read, it doesn’t seem to mention anything about lgbt+ people. 

And movies are made by human beings. Some of them happen to be part of the lgbt+ community. And like many humans before them, they will take inspiration from their lives. And sometimes give their characters similar traits as themselves.

And let’s not forget that in several countries people can still be executed for being themselves and just wanting to be accepted for who they are. They are still terribly misunderstood and judged through stereotypes and fake news spread by political groups who want to punish them for being who they are. Many books are currently banned in several countries (including some states in the US) because they have a word in it considered to be “lgbt propaganda” by the government. Being openly gay, bisexual, lesbian and/or trans puts you at risks of being violently assaulted, discriminated against, rejected by your family, your workplace, your friends,…….

Mind you, homosexuality exists in multiple species. You find evidence of people having homosexual relationships, or even questioning gender identities, in different civilisations throughout history. They always existed and will always exist. 

I think the world has many problems today, but a supporting character in a movie being homosexual isn’t one.

Look around you. You see people of various age, with various ethnicity, various styles, who all have their own identity. What’s so bad about that same exact thing being shown in medias ? 

When we don’t understand something we tend to reject it. But the human being by default isn’t necessarily heterosexual. There is no “normal” or “by default” human being that excludes millions of our species. No one should be rejected for something they cannot change and that is part of their identity. Let’s accept each other for who we are and accept that not every thing should cater specifically to us. 

There is a problem with thinking of it as disproprotianate or "over" representation. Companies want to sell stuff, so they want to cover as many groups as possible. Having an accurate percentage of the cast be a certain ethnicity doesn't sell things. People who get mad because not enough of the actors are white/cis are an audience whose priorities I will never understand. I've never watched an ad and thought "I would've bought that life insurance, but the person buying it was a black guy... and I'm not a black guy so I guess it's not for me".

If an ad follows 5 characters, should 4 of them be white if 80% of the population is white. If you want to represent the 4% black population, how do you do that when you can either have 0% or 20%? Minority groups will always be over represented simply by the fact that including a single person from that group can drastically increase the percentage.
